- (a) By distributing virtual microarrays for gene expression studies in uncharacterised or less characterised species.
- (b) Distribution of virtual microarrays constructed using orthologous probes for toxicology studies in drug development.
- 2. Provision of cross species genomics consultancy and support services to pharmaceutical companies and the biomedical research community.
- 3. Development of genomics-derived surrogate biomarkers through research collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Using comparative genome hybridisation technology orthologous GeneChip probes are selected to construct a microarray for unsequenced genomes. The cross-species array is compatible to the Affymetrix GeneChip system hence no further costs in equipment is required in order to process our cross-species arrays. The arrays enable robust data analysis due to elimination of low signals as a result of genetic variability between species.
